François and Maggy Doucet set up a confectionery workshop in the heart of Oraison, in the last almond factory still in service. At that time, their only product was "pralino eis amando de Prouvènço" : grilled provence almonds coated with nougatine (a mixture of caramelised sugar, ground almonds, Provencal herbs and bourbon vanilla).
30 years later, the company, S.A. Francois Doucet Confiseur, was set up on a small industrial estate, and the factory has spread over 3000 square metres. The company employs 45 full time workers, sells products throughout France with 30% of its production going to exports. The products are sold to a highly demanding clientele, who request a high level of expertise, good value for money and quality ingredients from their producer.
